A Year of Creativity Begins Outside the Comfort Zone

I stepped way out of my comfort zone on my birthday and stepped into the cold water with the world famous and fabulous Polar Bears at the Inkwell on Martha’s Vineyard. I have always said that hell is not a hot place, it is a very cold place, so it took about 3 days to talk myself into it and one minute before the 7:30am start, I still was uncertain. Thank God for good friends! Sarah cheered me on and Jennifer guided me in. So on September 5, 2022, I was Polar Bear No. 31 of 96 beautiful souls. Wonderful exercise, inspiration and sisterly love in the water. We were asked to shout out a word and I wanted to say something profound but the only word that came to mind under pressure was CREATIVITY. I am going to lean into that word this birthday year and see what fun things the universe brings. More to come on this story but for now, I am so glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone. As an introvert and risk avoider, I will need to hibernate (recharge my batteries) before making bold moves again. Thanks to the Polar Bears for this wonderful experience.
