Planting Seeds For The Future

Beautiful and timeless quote from one of my favorite poets. Every morning, I mediate on the things that are important to me that I want to accomplish that day.  I usually chose three things of significance and everything else is optional.  I hate to admit it but I am a "checklist" girl.  I love the instant gratification of checking off something that is on my list of things to do.  I even write my list in my daily planner because checking it off on my iPhone is not as gratifying as making that mark on paper.  But this practice also comes with anxiety and sometimes a sense of failure if only three of the ten items have been accomplished.  When I shifted to no more than three items of significance each day, every day felt rewarding.

Don't be afraid to set yourself up for success.  Include self-care items, such as getting a massage, having a conversation with a friend, exercising while watching your favorite show.  Add a small act of kindness to your list. As much as possible, the list should be filled with things that bring us joy.  What is the harvest that you would like to reap?  That answer is different for all of us but once you define your purpose, you can set realistic goals and plant a few seeds daily.  Don't forget to celebrate each accomplishment because the joy is in the journey.
